POW*MIA Awareness Rally Pocatello, Idaho

Count Down to the Opening Ceremonies of

We are in the planning stages of our 8th Annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally & Motorcycle Rodeo

July 25-27, 2008 at the Bannock County Fairgrounds Pocatello, Idaho

Approximately 7000 people came thru our gates in 07. We anticipate 10,000 this year.

The reason our event keeps growing is:

 Location: We are where two interstates intersect (No helmet law in Idaho) and the gateway to the Northwest.
 Timing: We are “On the Way to Sturgis” folks going that direction can hit our event on the way.
 Veteran/Patriot run event that is Non-Profit- benefiting the local Veterans Home and local charities (No one in our Association is paid- we are all volunteers).
 Family friendly: We have all the traditional “Biker” stuff with lots of product and food vendors, and many events happening, but we Do Not have anything that promotes nudity such as wet t-shirt contests, etc.
 The last 7 years we have yet to have an arrest or any problems- we police our own with our own Security made up of Combat Vets.
 Good old fashioned western hospitality.
 Cold Beer available at all times.
 Convenient RV and tent camping right next to the event and a host hotel less than a mile away.
 A setting that at night has the best sunset view in the northwest and some of the best riding destinations for scenery anywhere.

Many fun and interesting things to see and do during our event:

 JPAC from Hickam Field in Hawaii- they will have a complete display of what the recovery teams use and representatives that will have an ongoing presentation.
 The Field of Heroes display- the Yellow Ribbon Campaign has a display of all those who have been killed in our recent military actions and other military information available. The local Veteran Service Organizations support this.
 Hot Air Balloon rides- Freedom Flight will be there with their POW*MIA Hot Air Balloon. "Weather Permitting" we will have tethered flights, morning and evening "Glows" as well as raffled prizes of some un-tethered flights.
 Monster Truck rides on Thumper.
 8 second Mechanical Bull rides.
 For the kids-jumpy thing and wall climb.
 Full military display of the M109A6 Howitzers.
 The largest POW*MIA flag will be flying during our event. (30’x 60’ & 100lbs.)
 Martha and John Amodie’s Wedding.

The elderly parking lot attendant wasn't in a good mood!

Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, Fla. , eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event.

He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak. "I took two bullets for this country and look what I'm doing," he said bitterly.

At first, Bierstock didn't know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, "Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you."

Then the old soldier began to cry.....
