TWIN FALLS • Sgt. Daniel J. Brown, 27, of Jerome, was killed Sunday in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan, the Department of Defense confirmed today.

Brown died of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
