POW*MIA Rodeo

Home

Greetings Veterans and Fellow Patriots:

The Time is Here! All of the AR tickets have been sold. Thank you to everyone who helped us with this fundraiser; both, those of you who purchased tickets and those who sold them. Big shout out to Marc Romero who made our poster. It was gorgeous and really showcased our raffle item. It takes a village to make things happen and I’m so happy to have you all in my village.

So, what does that mean now that the tickets are all sold? WE DRAW THE WINNER!! We will hold the drawing at our March General Membership Meeting on Friday, March 15th at 7pm at Liberty Hall, 325 W. Benton, Pocatello. I invite you to join us at our meeting to be part of the festivities and excitement.

Also happening March 15-16, is Chrome in the Dome. Our sales trailer will be parked up there to bring awareness to our mission and to talk to people about our 21st Annual Idaho Thunder Run in May and our 24th Annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally and Motorcycle Rodeo in July. Come up and hang out. If you would like to help, please let Al know. He is always glad to have assistance.

Other than that, March is a pretty quiet month, but things are starting to happen. We are set for April 27th for our spring cleanup of the POW/MIA Memorial Highway 26. The cleanup of roadway debris goes fairly quickly when we have lots of volunteers to help and we have fun playing “Roadside Bingo” with the debris we find along the way. Make sure you bring your own gloves and water. The trash bags and safety vests will be provided.

Speaking of spring cleaning, it is also that time of year to start cleaning out your own clutter! Consider donating new or gently used items to the POW*MIA Community Fundraiser which will take place Saturday, May 11. We will be collecting donation items at the General Membership Meeting on March 15th from 6-8pm, the Board meeting on April 1st 6-8pm, and the April General Membership Meeting on April 19th 6-8pm. We are accepting books, toys & games, tools, collectibles, furniture, home décor and artwork, small household appliances, electronics, clothing, and motorcycle parts and gear.

If you would like pull the flag trailer for our Thunder Run, please let me know. The Thunder Run is Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th and you would be committed all day long. Also, if you could save a spot for our Bugler; Heather Petrella, to ride along with you that would be wonderful. She will be playing Taps live for us again this year on a “new to her” bugle that was originally made around 1920 for the American Legion. The bugle was to be played on posts. She played this particular bugle at the Wreaths Across America ceremony this past year and the sound was amazing.

The 24th Annual POW*MIA Awareness Rally and Motorcycle Rodeo is only 4 months away!  If you know of anyone who would like to be a sponsor, make sure we get a sponsor letter out to them. Just let Nicki or myself know to whom the sponsor letter needs to be delivered.

Please read the February General Membership Meeting Minutes, so we will be able to take a vote to accept or amend them. Keep an eye on the calendar and Facebook for all of our events.

Have a great couple of weeks and we will see you on the Friday, February 16th at 7pm at Liberty Hall!

Thank you,
