Greetings Patriots,
President Donald Trump has issued a proclamation declaring November National Veterans and Military Families Month.
I’d like to take this time to recognize and say thank you to all Veterans for their service and sacrifice that was made while wearing the US military uniform. A veteran’s service should not be taken lightly because service members gave up a lot to serve our nation, whether it was overseas in a conflict or on the home front, take time to remember them. I’d like to thank the family of the veterans. The sacrifices of the family are just as great and should not be forgotten.
Thank you all for your service,
SFC Tim Cowden, US Army Retired
Veterans Day is Monday, November 11. While the POW*MIA Awareness Association does not have a ceremony for Veteran’s Day, we do support ceremonies of others.
The Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the American Legion is at 11am at the Memorial Building, 300 N Johnson (11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month – This is the date of the end of WWI Armistice Day.)
The American Legion Auxiliary Luncheon will immediately follow the ceremony at the Memorial Building.
The Idaho State Veterans Home Veterans Day Program is at 2:30pm at 1957 Alvin Ricken Drive.
Pocatello Cycle Annual Coat Drive
260 Yellowstone. Open Tuesday – Friday 10-5:30pm & Saturday 10-3pm
If you have coats or other winter gear to give, please take them down to Jan at Poky Cycle. They are accepting gently used coats for men, women, or children. Also, if you know of a family in need please send them down to the shop.
General Meeting
The next General Meeting is Friday, November 15th at 7pm at Liberty Hall.
We will have a Toys for Tots Box at the meeting for those that would like to donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need. Please take a minute and think of families in our community that will need our help this year. Each campaign’s donations stay local. Southeast Idaho Toys for Tots Campaign is run by the Steven D. Merrell Marine Corps League Detachment #698 – Toys for Tots Coordinator Phillip Hartman.
Please review October’s General Meeting Minutes so we can entertain a motion to accept them at the meeting.

Float Decorating Party & Potluck
Sunday, Nov. 24 at 5pm
Great Western Malt 1666 Kraft Rd
Go through the main entrance and to the first Warehouse on the left “Warehouse 1” Please do not go past this point as they are letting us use this one warehouse, but we cannot be on the rest of the property, because of safety issues.
This is a potluck Please bring a dish or dessert to share and whatever you are drinking.
Parade
Friday, November 29 line up begins 4pm and parade begins at 6:30pm.
This is a nighttime parade, so all participants are required to be lit up. Remember to wear glow sticks or have some battery lights on your person. The Association will have candy, but if you would like to bring a bag that would be great. Every year we try to buy enough candy and every year it’s a gamble if we make it to the end or not.
Biker’s for Blood Community Blood Drive
Thursday, December 12 from 1-7pm at the Mountain View Event Center on 1567 Way to Grace.
If you are able please give. Giving blood is a simple thing to do and it can make a big difference in the lives of others. It is getting tougher to find individuals that are able to donate. If you are one of those that cannot give you can still help by finding volunteers that can donate.
To schedule an appointment to give blood for Bikers for Blood Drive please contact:
